Responsibilities

  • Analyze a wide array of networking metrics and recognize substandard network performance.
  • Perform analysis for collaboration of network / system needs and participate in planning, designing, upgrading and deployment of enterprise datacenter hardware, software and services using a project-based timeline.
  • Develop reports and trend analysis documentation on bandwidth and network security incidents.
  • Make expert decisions and recommendations on how to resolve, improve, or prevent network problems/issues.
  • Engineer, implement, and sustain network monitoring and management tools and ensure tools are properly functioning and collecting network telemetry and performance metrics to support troubleshooting and analysis functions. Develop and update IT systems concept of operations and engineering plans.
  • Submit daily performance reports and ensure automate performance tools are functioning correctly. Use databases and spreadsheets to manage data for performance analysis. Manage files storage and safeguards data.
  • Coordinate all efforts closely with Modeling and Simulation, Cybersecurity, and Networks to prevent overlap or conflicts of efforts, and the delivery on a single performance report daily.
  • Coordinate all efforts closely with Modeling and Simulation and engineering (Systems, Network, Cybersecurity) to ensure adequate data collection and prevent overlaps or conflicts of effort
  • Provide General IT Management support.
  • Provide General Networking support.
  • Provide LAN support.
  • Provide WAN Enterprise support.
  • Provide technical and general O&M support as required.
  • Provide documentation/reports support as required.
  • Provide meetings/briefings support as required.
  • Provide functional training support as required.
  • Provide OCONUS deployment/TDY travel support as required.
  • Provide CONUS TDY support as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • B.S. in related field and 5 or more years’ relevant IT experience (preferred) Or 7 or more years’ relevant IT experience.
  • SolarWinds, NetScout, and Unix/Linux experience.
  • Ability to integrate automated capabilities for updating or patching system software where practical and develop processes and procedures for manual updating and patching of system software based on current and projected patch timeline requirements for the operational environment of the system.
  • Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding with installation of Microsoft Windows Server in Host and Compute Environments, and Windows Server using server images.
  • Experience with implementation of storage solutions, high availability, Domain Name Systems (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), network connectivity and remote access solutions, core and distributed network solutions, advance network infrastructure, and maintain and monitor server environments.
  • Secret Clearance required
