SMS is hiring a Training & Communications Manager to work at LA Air Force Base supporting the Air & Space Force Command serving on the 61st Force Support Squadron contract.  The ideal candidate will have a mix of technical concept expertise, strong written and verbal communication skills, and excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Training Sessions: Lead virtual training sessions for end-users, clients, and internal teams, ensuring they understand and can effectively use our software applications.
  • Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Measure the impact of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, making adjustments as needed to improve outcomes.
  • Develop Training Materials: Create and maintain engaging training content, including manuals, guides, presentations, and on-line resources tailored to various learning styles and skill levels.
  • Account Management: Process new account requests, account transfers, additional permissions; delete accounts and remove permissions; update certificates
  • Customer Support: Ongoing support to customers, answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and providing guidance on advanced features and functionalities.
  • Knowledge Manager Support Support: Ongoing support to Knowledge Managers by creating new groups, moving/copying folders, un-reserved documents
  • Track Support: Create, track, and resolve trouble tickets in ServiceNow.
  • Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest software updates, industry trends, and best practices to ensure training content remains current and relevant.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, English or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications or specialized training in software applications are a plus.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical training or software support role, preferably within the software industry.
  • Experience with software application training and instructional design is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of software applications and technical concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, Service Plus preferable

Communication:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Experience in delivering engaging presentations and training sessions, both in-person and virtually.

Problem-Solving:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

Organizational Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to build rapport with diverse audiences.

 

Security Clearance:

  • Minimum of a DoD Interim Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
