Overview

The Field Services Lead provides the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Rocket Lab support by managing a team supporting IT communication infrastructure assets such as audio and video distribution systems, public address systems, digital signs, environmental monitoring equipment, multi-function devices, racks/cabinets, servers, telecommunications cable infrastructure, telecommunications network infrastructure, desk/rack-mounted uninterrupted power supplies, video conferencing systems, and Wireless Access Points (WAPs).

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management of activities within the Field Service Support Team.
  • Develops procedures that support the execution of Field Service activities, including process flows, roles, and responsibilities definition, and reporting schema to enable the establishment of appropriate touch points and engagements.
  • Coordinate with several IT Service Providers to provide timely information and resolutions to end users.
  • Refines procedures and processes for continual improvement and optimization.
  • Maintain open dialog with RQIC Leadership and ARTEMIS VI Program Manager.
  • Maintain inventory of network parts, hardware, and consumables required to maintain communication rooms.
  • Create and compile materials list required to complete Field Services projects.
  • Maintain communication room drawings, floor plans, and rack elevation drawings detailing physical location of all equipment and patch panels (i.e. copper and fiber) within rack.
  • Maintain all physical network equipment documentation.
  • Maintain communication room systems when required IAW industry standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years combined experience in telecommunications infrastructure, facility design, and networking/communication hardware installation.
  • 3+ years team lead experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Microsoft Visio.
  • Maintain a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certificate.
  • DoD Interim Secret clearance or higher.
  • Familiarity with DoD IT infrastructure requirements preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint preferred.
