    Responsibilities

    The candidate will have experience in operating, maintaining and deploying Microsoft and Vmware technologies within small to medium campus environments. Systems Administrator must be able to exhibit strong communication, collaboration, as well as time and project management skills. This is an operational position that focuses on customer-facing (production) infrastructure.

    • Daily management and monitoring of Windows Server Operating Systems and VMware Virtualization Technologies.
    • Perform system upgrades of operating systems, applications, and other tools, including evaluation and installation of new products, and MS and other application patches..
    • Assists with other functions such as server security patching, troubleshooting, reporting, and performing follow-up actions.
    • Manage Service Level Agreements, documentation, and policy/procedure compliance for IT systems.
    • Participate in the implementation of agreed upon solutions and strategies.
    • Troubleshoot technology issues, using various internal and external resources.
    • Generate innovative approaches and solutions to recurring tasks or problems.
    • Strong working knowledge of SharePoint 2013/2016/2019 is a plus.
    • Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects. Resolve escalated issues from the IT Service Desk.
    • Participate in testing and evaluation of new technologies to ensure compatibility and functionality.
    • Follow policies and procedures for change and incident management.
    • Support accreditation activities such as maintaining support design, management documentation
      and review of processes in support of annual security reviews and other ISO 27001 activities.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work independently as required.

    Qualifications

    Eight to ten years of progressively responsible systems administration with hands-on experience with Microsoft and VMware Operating Systems. .

     

    Applicant must possess refined critical thinking skills, should be a self-starter, be diplomatic, multi-tasking capable, adaptive to a dynamic environment, dependable and reliable. Prior experience in DoD environments is desirable.

     

    Bachelor’s degree in a MIS related field.
