    Responsibilities

     

     

    • Provide implementation, engineering, and administration support to ACAS for the USAF.
    • Assist with deploying and configuring the ACAS solution - Provide overall architecture guidance
    • Provide operational testing and evaluation support for the ACAS components and future releases.
    • Troubleshoot ACAS issues/CMRS publishing - Work with and mentor implementation teams on all technical aspects of the ACAS solution
    • Collaborate with the DISA engineers, implementation teams, and HPES management team
    • Work closely with the ACAS Lab to resolve any technical issues - Provide Tier III support to the ACAS implementation

    Qualifications:

    • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools to include and understanding of Vulnerability Management System (VMS) and Continuous Monitoring and Risk Scoring (CMRS)
    • Experience with security architectures - Experience in Windows and UNIX operating system administration
    • Experience with network design, LAN/WAN systems and lab configuration to include the following capabilities: Installing, operating and maintaining routers, switches, domain controllers, member servers, clients, etc. Ability to replicate client environment issues Understanding networking support to include TCP/IP, DNS, and SMTP issues
    • Provide technical support to customers involving a wide range of software, hardware, and DoD specific applications with respect to the ACAS solution
    • Ability to analyze the customer’s needs and identify security requirements / solutions. Position requires strong written and verbal communications skills.

    • Preferred Credentials: Preferred but not mandatory credentials:
    • BS Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security or like field Solid IA background.
    • Experience with DoD STIGS, IA Tools (SCCVI, SCRI, Host Based Security System) and the DIACAP program

    Position Summary:

     

    A Subject Matter Expert that has experience in operating, maintaining and deploying voice and IP data networks within medium to large campus environments. Systems Administrator – Senior engineers must be able to develop LAN/WAN designs, setup router/switch configurations, design/configure routing protocols, and set up IP subnet schemes. Systems Administrator - Senior engineers must be able to exhibit strong communication, collaboration, as well as time and project management skills. This is an operational position that focuses on customer-facing (production) infrastructure.

     

    Essential Job Functions:

    •  Experience in directly managing teams of diverse technical personnel responsible for the daily operation of a campus voice switch, inside and outside plant contract.
    • Operate and maintain (O&M) Avaya/Nortel SL-100 and associated voice and networking systems.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and hands on experience with LAN/WAN setup, TCP/IP protocol, routing/switching configurations and firewall technologies.
    • Experience with Avaya, Cisco, Juniper and Brocade routing/switching platforms and IOS.
    • Troubleshooting complex network issues such as performance analysis, protocol problems, hardware failures and WAN/LAN connectivity issues.
    • Experience in using network management tools, such as WhatsUp Gold for managing and troubleshooting.
    • Experience in using telecommunications management systems (TMS), such as NetPLUS.
    • Have knowledge of and experience in working with DoD IA and Cyber Security practices, policies as they apply to data network and voice technologies.
    • Have experience in O& M of fiber optic and copper cable plant, including inside and outside infrastructure, and be knowledgeable in BICSI standards.
    • Experience in managing teams of diverse technical personnel.
    • Participate in the implementation of agreed upon solutions and strategies.
    • Troubleshoot technology issues, using various internal and external resources.
    • Generate innovative approaches and solutions to recurring tasks or problems.
    • Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects.
    • Participate in testing and evaluation of new technologies to ensure compatibility and functionality.
    • Follow policies and procedures for change and incident management.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work independently as required.

     

    Qualifications

    Eight to ten years of progressively responsible telecommunication network engineering hands-on experience with Avaya/Nortel SL-100 systems, and Cisco, Juniper, Brocade and Avaya network platforms. Candidate must comply with DoD 8570 IAT II Baseline and Computing Environment certification requirements. Individual must have high degree of skills with the MS Office toolsets.

     

    Applicant must possess refined critical thinking skills, should be a self-starter, will direct the activities of other team members, be diplomatic, multi-tasking capable, adaptive to a dynamic environment, dependable and reliable. Prior experience in DoD environments is desirable.

     

    Education

     

    Bachelor’s degree in a Business Management or MIS related field. Advanced degree is preferred.

    Must have and maintain an active DoD  Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
