    SMS, a fast growing, veteran-owned business that has supported Federal Government's IT initiatives for over four decades, is seeking a Corporate Director of Recruiting to manage our team of technical recruiters.  In this role, you will manage the overall hiring initiatives as we seek new talent for our organization. You will be responsible for building a team of technical recruiters and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the hiring process. The Director of Recruiting will work closely with our technical recruiters to manage sourcing, interviewing and employment processes. The Director of Recruiting will work closed with the executive management team and reports to the President. To be successful in this role, the Director of Recruiting will have a solid recruitment background with a passion for developing a strong talent pool and meeting/exceeding hiring targets.

    Responsibilities

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manage our team of Technical Recruiters and drive and direct all recruitment efforts
    • Set clear goals and benchmarks for recruitment team
    • Create an analytical process that leverages key ATS dashboard metrics in order to report and grow a data-driven and technically skilled recruiting department
    • Evaluate, recommend and implement new or alternative sourcing strategies
    • Assign responsibilities and priorities to the team to ensure immediate hiring needs are addressed
    • Train and mentor new recruiters in correct company processes and procedures
    • Encourage open lines of communication between yourself, your team and corporate stake-holders
    • Work closely with Hiring Managers to understand each contract’s requirements and environment
    • Ensure OFCCP Tracking for Affirmative Action Compliance
    • Implement strategic hiring procedures and improve upon recruitment measures
    • Process and track applicant job submissions
    • Work closely with Human Resources and Security Team to verify clearances and coordinate onboarding
    • Maintain a clean and organized Applicant Tracking System
    • Assist in Full Cycle Recruiting for cleared technical/IT and other sensitive positions on multiple CONUS contracts

    Qualifications

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of senior recruiting experience
    • 3+ years managerial and leadership experience preferably in a fast-paced and highly competitive business
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
    • Experience in recruiting for all levels of cleared candidates and a general understanding of hiring in the government contractor space
    • Proven and successful experience managing full-cycle recruiting processes consisting of sourcing, screening, negotiating and closing candidates
    • Hands-on experience managing an Applicant Tracking System
    • Excellent team management skills
    • Exceptional work ethic, exemplary communication skills both oral and written
    • Ability to meet deadlines and thrive under pressure
    • Highly engaged, organized, and personable
    • Experience with (phone and in-person) interviews, candidate screening and evaluation
    • Familiarity with social media and other professional networks
    • Understanding of fair employment practices
    • Ability to recommend, coordinate and attend job fairs 
    • Strong decision-making skills
    • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects
