    Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will provide server hardware, software, operating system, and application development support for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) by administering and engineering systems managed within the application development team.  The Systems Administrator should have experience supporting large enterprise environments, administering and maintaining Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016 operating systems and SQL database instances.  The candidate should have Microsoft (MS) SharePoint Site Collection Administrator experience, be familiar with administering Internet Information Services (IIS), and proficient with administration and development of a cloud based instance of Service Now.  The candidate will be required to develop software in support of all software life-cycle activities with a focus on Agile, Waterfall, or Spiral methodologies, based on AFRL application requirements.

     

     

    Desired Skills:

    • Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with AFRL client and project requirements
    • Experience with Windows 7 and 10,Windows Servers running file/print/web services (IIS), Commvault backups, and SQL database server support
    • Familiar with application integration using various data sources, including flat files and existing databases (SQL, Access, or similar)
    • Experience with .NET applications and integration with MS IIS intranet websites
    • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures for managed systems
    • Handle ongoing maintenance of server operating systems such as service pack installations, hot fixes, and software upgrades
    • Capable of hardening applications and systems using Defense Information Systems Agency Security Technical Implementation Guides (DISA STIGs)
    • Maintain service lifecycle management information, and ensure new services adhere to government enterprise standards
    • Able to conduct service performance assessments and scalability planning
    • Utilize government provided tools and methodologies to support service lifecycle management activities, experience with Service now preferred
    • Support web content migration and integration with AFRL and AF public facing websites
    • Experience with Site Collection Management/Administration of MS SharePoint 2013/2016 and Knowledge Management principles
    • Able to identify and resolve end user SharePoint issues
    • Proficient at conducting system engineering analyses and assessments to support legacy environment re-engineering, including capability gap analysis with recommended solutions
    • Familiar with Configuration Management processes and software-application evaluation, testing, and design studies
    • Manage user accounts and permissions to applications and data
    • Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with business stakeholders/users
    • Follow policies and procedures for change and incident management

    Qualifications

    Three to five years’ experience in website hosting/development, MS SharePoint, and .NET application development, and experience with DISA security standardization processes and application of DISA STIGs.  Applicant must possess refined critical thinking skills, should be a self-starter, may direct the activities of other team members, diplomatic, multi-task capable, adaptive to a dynamic environment, dependable and reliable.  Prior experience in a government consulting services environment is preferred.

     

     

    Education/Clearance/Certification:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a Business Management or MIS related field preferred, or experience in lieu of degree; High School diploma required if no existing higher education diplomas
    • Active DoD SECRET clearance is required
    • Minimum DoD 8570 IAT-II (Sec+ CE) certification required
    • Microsoft certifications preferred (MTA, MCSA, MCSD, MCSE)
