    Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    General Responsibilities for the IT Equipment Control, end user equipment configurations utilizing Air Force Standard Desktop Configurations (SDC), and distribution of IT assets to the appropriate IT Equipment Custodians (ITECs). The AIM section also provides Personal Wireless Communication Devices (PWCS) management and Unit Software License Manager (USLM) services.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Central function for all computer, printer and peripheral equipment configuration and builds as outlined to support customer systems
    • Equipment includes, but is not limited to; Personal Computer (PC), printers, monitors, KVM’s, scanners, Multi-Function Devices and PEDs.
    • Maintain accountability of all equipment as outlined in AF and local OI’s as well as document all adds, moves and changes within the appropriate database after coordination with the Government Equipment Custodian Officer
    • Test and validate SDC loads to ensure PC is in working condition for the end user
    • Assist with purchasing and planning for PC’s, KVM’s, monitors, keyboards, switches utilizing AFWAY ordering system
    • Verify and validate inbound shipments for accuracy, completeness, and condition
    • Ensure items are properly inventoried and stored
    • Maintain Electrostatic Discharge workbench and use it as required to perform maintenance. Ensure compliance of workbench in accordance with AF T.O. 00-25-234, chapter 7
    • Maintains records and databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's hardware and software
    • Ensures that processes and procedures regarding inventory and tracking of assets complies with government and contract policies

    Qualifications

    Background and Experiences

    • 5-8 years of directly related experience in Asset Inventory Management specializing in IT Equipment Control and support. Experience with Personal Wireless Communication Devices (PWCS) management and Unit Software License Manager (USLM) services is highly desired.
    • Ability to work effectively independently as well as within a team environment
    • Information Systems Support - Provide support to the following information systems, to include but not limited to, JWICS, NIPRNet, SIPRNet, NSANet, and Tier networks.
    • Demonstrated a strong work ethic and ability and willingness to take on new challenges
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to follow policies and procedures
    • Ability to communicate in a clear speaking voice as well as the ability to respond clearly to questions
    • Aptitude to address negative situations, and resolve them in a positive manner
    • Must be U.S. citizen

     

    Education and Certifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
    • IAT-II: Security+ CE
