    Responsibilities

    OVERVIEW:

    SMS is seeking a high-energy sales representative to re-sell Information Technology products and solutions to the Federal Government.

     

    BACKGROUND:

    SMS is a 42-year-old Systems Integrator, SEWP contract holder, and Government contractor with decades of experience in Hardware and Software Catalog sales. Our existing partnerships consist of top tier manufacturer vendors such as Juniper, Cisco, and Bluecoat (Symantec).

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work with vendor partner Account Manager(s) and SMS Management to target select agencies and programs.
    • Collaborate with vendor partners on contacts and call plans in order to sell vendor-specific products and solutions.
    • Execute call plans, identify opportunities, and co-manage opportunity lifecycle with vendor account managers and SMS management.
    • Complete OEM sales training and understand technology discriminators to enable successful sales closure.
    • Track, record, and present activity on opportunities, accounts, and Government customer agencies using Salesforce CRM.
    • Develop and implement sales strategies working together with vendor partners and SMS management with emphasis on closing sales.
    • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and identify and participate in marketing events such as trade shows that support sales objectives.
    • The candidate shall apply knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop unique value propositions and differentiators for opportunities.

     

    Qualifications

     

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:

    • Motivated, self-driven individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to contact, communicate, and follow-up with Government decision makers at all stages of the Sales cycle.
    • Must maintain a professional appearance and exhibit a positive company image to the public.
    • Experience in 90-days forecast cycles with high sales closure: emphasis on cold-calling, forming positive relationships with partners and customers, understanding requirements and following up through procurement.

     

    THE FOLLOWING ARE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

    • Understanding of Government procurement process.
    • Experience with Salesforce or CRM tool.
    • Experience working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) in Government agencies.
