    Responsibilities

    JFHQNCR/MDW Network Service Technician will have one year of specialized experience which includes integrating, operating, or optimizing multi-vendor LAN or WAN technologies; capable of designing network infrastructures, engineering and interpret network-related security requirements; developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guides, or process maps related to network operations or problem/incident resolution; developing network architecture drawings/plans; and identifying, diagnosing, or resolving complex network performance issues and outages.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Defining and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure
    • Configuring and optimizing network servers, hubs, routers, and switches
    • Monitoring network capacity and performance
    • Diagnosing and resolving network problems
    • Installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading network operating systems software
    • Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services
    • Ability to analyzes, troubleshoot and solve problems
    • Brief management and recommend systems enhancements for performance improvement.

    Qualifications

    • Active Secret/TS Clearance
    • Requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate Information Assurance certification in accordance with DOD 8570.01-M; Solutions Architect – Associates/Sys Ops Administrator – Associates/CCNA/CCDA/Security +/Network+/Cloud+
    • Must have attention to detail when preforming work and conscientious about attending detail
    • Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit procedures including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services
    • Be able to express information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others , attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately
    • Must have problem solving skills to identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations
    • This position may be designated as “Mission Essential” in event of severe weather or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
