    The Senior Technical Project Manager will be responsible for driving the future of web based dashboards, applications, and platforms for our DoD customer while leading a cross-functional development team focused on delivering these future products. The Senior Technical Project Manager will be the catalyst that enables teams to be fully functional, productive and able to deliver highly reliable and resilient systems while interfacing with the DoD project lead.

    Responsibilities

    Position Duties:

    • Serve as lead in coordinating the development tasks, documentation, and metrics to build and deliver weekly, monthly, quarterly programs and project status reporting.
    • Collaborate with customers, partners and vendors to develop strategies and solutions of high business value for our customer and for our company.
    • Coordinate and facilitate sprint planning meetings, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives and demos.
    • Have the ability to take highly technical information and translate it to understandable terms and examples.
    • Empower team to be fully functional and productive by working in close cooperation across roles and functions, internal and external to the technology team.
    • Review and recommend solutions to remove barriers to incremental progress and shield the team from external interference.
    • Promote continuous improvement by frequent operational reflections.
    • Enable a culture of tackling difficult questions; lead the team to resolve issues by engaging full participation and including other stakeholders when necessary.
    • Share responsibility for quality of work delivered by his/her team. Hold him/herself and the team accountable.
    • Review and recommend viable and best approach to agile practices, seek out and incorporate the latest best practices for implementation of the team.
    • Instill a sense of urgency and integrity in team, along with a sense of team ownership towards commitments.
    • Coach the team on the estimation process. May also participate in the estimation during the planning meeting.
    • Help the team assess their current executions and foster the mindset of continuous improvement.

    Demonstrated Abilities:

    • A proven track record of using project management and agile best practices to capitalize on business opportunities and deliver projects on time and on budget, consistently.
    • Proficiency using Agile Project Management tools such as Jira, Rally, VersionOne or equivalent
    • Proficiency using Microsoft Project, Visio, and all Office Tools
    • Strong leadership, partnership, collaboration and teambuilding skills.
    • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Strong understanding of web application technologies, Cloud Hosting, and Security.
    • Strong understanding of software development methodologies.
    • Strong high level understanding of web application software engineering with PHP, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.
    • Strong self-starter, motivated, enthusiastic, innovative, customer service-oriented with a record of success.
    • Ability to thrive with the rapid pace and constant change associated with the industry and Federal Government.

    Qualifications

    Position Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Project Management, Business, Computer Science, Technology, or related field required.
    • Agile/Scrum Certified Preferred
    • PMP Certification Preferred
    • DoD Secret Clearance Required

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years of related work experience of successfully implementing software or web services and development projects using Agile methodologies in a Government environment
    • 3 years of hands-on direct Project Management related to software development using agile methodologies, DevOps engineering, or systems architecture.
    • 5 years design/implementation/consulting experience with distributed applications.
    • Balanced business/technical background
