Responsibilities

  • Installs, removes, maintains, modifies, troubleshoots, and repairs voice and/or non-voice Nortel Meridian SL100 communications systems including electronic and electromechanical telephone key systems/PBXs; terminal and communications equipment, including line drivers. 
  • Basic Nortel switch configuration experience
  • Runs cables, key cables, or house wire to all telephone sets, terminal connectors, lugs, pins, or screws, associated with key telephone equipment and/or terminating equipment for non-voice circuits. Terminates cable on frames, jacks and patch panels. 
  • Assists Cable Splicers and Telecommunication Mechanic II personnel. 
  • Performs warehousing of GFE and contractor furnished equipment. 
  • Maintains records involving warranty and repairable switch cards, line cards, and telephone instruments.
  • Attends training sessions as required (DoD, Information Assurance, Security, Corporate).

Qualifications

  • Three to eight years of progressively responsible voice engineering hands-on experience with Nortel, Avaya, or other digital or analog platforms. Individual must have experience with the MS Office toolsets.
  • Applicant must possess refined critical thinking skills, should be a self-starter, may direct the activities of other team members, diplomatic, multi-task capable, adaptive to a dynamic environment, dependable and reliable. 
  • Prior experience in a government consulting services environment is required

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a Business Management or MIS related field is preferred.  High school diploma is acceptable.
