As a Intermediate Network Migrations Engineer, you will be responsible for overall oversight of a community of interest within JRSS to prepare that COI for migration. This position orchestrates the project end-to-end; Analyzes discovery information and determines requirements for migration; Provides gap analysis at the start of the project; Assists team members (Senior Network Engineer-Lead, other Team memebrs) and reviews results. Deconflicts inconsistencies between engineering implementation plans (EIPs ) and directs changes to EIP authors; Maintains current network diagram for COI/Base (end-to-end); Controls all variables and allocations e.g. IP Addresses, VLANs, VRFs, shims, process IDs, etc. Defines migration requirements to Tools and CND teams. This includes acceptable deadlines tracked by PM; Tracks task status against ASI schedule and adjusts implementations as required.
A Subject Matter Expert that has experience in architecting and deploying IP networks within medium to large datacenter environments. Intermediate network engineer must be able to develop LAN/WAN designs, setup router/switch configurations, design/configure routing protocols, and set up IP subnet schemes. Network engineers must be able to exhibit strong communication, collaboration, as well as time and project management skills. This is a consulting position that focuses on customer-facing (production) infrastructure.
Six to eight years of progressively responsible network engineering hands-on experience with Cisco platforms. Candidate must have CCNP certification (CCIE is a plus). Candidates should have technical experience in all of the following areas: Microsoft Windows Server 2K3/2K8, UNIX/Linux (SUN/Redhat) or database (Oracle/MS SQL 2005+). Individual must have high degree of skills with the MS Office toolsets.
Applicant must possess refined critical thinking skills, should be a self-starter, may direct the activities of other team members, diplomatic, multi-task capable, adaptive to a dynamic environment, dependable and reliable. Prior experience in a government consulting services environment is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in a Business Management or MIS related field.
Must have and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance.
